4. Budget Presentation and Discussion
Discussion:
Superintendent Bauer began his presentation and worked with the board on how the school budget and tax asking are developed. Mr. Bauer presented the anticipated budget for the 24-25 school year to the board. The board went through this year’s anticipated spending and asked questions about the reasons some areas were higher/lower. There were three different models for tax request based on 0%, 5% and 10% valuations increases. Conversations were had regarding the building fund expectations and making sure we were taking appropriate actions to help our tax payers.
After walking through the state aid formula and explaining changes from last year to this year Superintendent Bauer showed the board of education the LC-2 and how the budget authority figures into the equation. Board members asked questions and there was great conversation about school budget authority and tax request and budget spending limits. |
