Discussion:
Mr. Bauer invited board members to attend a webinar regarding the Legislative Session and Legal Implications on April 22nd from 9 am to 2 pm. Mr. Bauer reported that Mr. Kort hopes to be able to meet with our building committee prior to the May Board of Education meeting so that we can have possible plans in place to discuss at the May meeting. Today was Day 58 of the Legislative session. Day #60 is April 18th. Mr. Bauer updated board members on possible outcomes of the legislative session. The budget process is going to be difficult this year. Mr. Bauer plans to have preliminary numbers in place in order to have some conversations at the July BOE meeting with the goal of discussing those numbers and our options in greater detail at the Budget and Finance workshop in early August. Mr. Bauer reminded board members of the Lunch and Autogas ride along tomorrow from 10 - 1 pm at the Holiday Express, Grand Island (2510 S. North Road). Two spots are reserved for interested board members. Also, the NASB Leaders and Law Conference is from June 12 - 13th, with the golf outing on June 12th.

7.7. Apple Laptop & I-pad bid
Action(s):
No Action(s) have been added to this Agenda Item.
Discussion:
Pricing has stayed incredibly consistent since 4 years ago. No major increases. In fact, we saw a cost reduction on the i-pads. Zero percent interest financing is still available for us. $202,933.60.
We will use the buyback money and some reap funds to help offset the cost for year one. Mr. Bauer's recommendation with the current landscape of school finance, would be to spread the payments out over 4 years instead of our traditional 3 year route. Amber Gibson added that the Apple buyback program for our current laptops could offset this cost anywhere between $25,000 - $35,000. If we wait another year, the buyback would not be an option. |

8. Discussion/Information Items
|
|
8.1. Heating and AC at Bladen Site
Discussion:
To add more VAV Boxes (more zones) we need to add a new panel. Rutt's have priced that by itself. The other price is the price for the (3) Rooms and if we want to do all (6) Rooms we would double that price. Board members discussed the pros and cons of each option. This will be on the agenda next month after further consideration.
