1. Call to Order and Announce Open Meetings Act Verification
Discussion:
The regular Board meeting was called to order by President Steve Vyhnalek at 8:00 pm with 5 members present, which constitutes a quorum. Carol Schnell has an excused absence. President Vyhnalek confirmed the advance notice to the public of the meeting and agenda. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Discussion:
Also present are Superintendent Daryl Schrunk, Principal Jake Wiese and Linda Woolsey. Due to the absence of Secretary Schnell, President Vyhnalek assigned Shelly Lehr as Acting Secretary for tonight's meeting.

Discussion:
Visitor is Jay Spearman with Piper Sandler.

4. Request for Change of Agenda
Discussion:
9.1 Call to refund the Series 2016 bond and 9.2 to begin the Series 2021 bond will be moved to the first item on the agenda.

7.1. Principal's Report
Discussion:
Mr. Wiese presented information on the first monthly "Longhorn Line-Up" activity. The first Principal Advisory meeting was held on 9/27. Parent Teacher Conference attendance was high. Heidi Farmer coached reading teachers on 10/4. Fire Prevention Week was observed October 3-9. Homecoming activities were well-received last week. National School Lunch Week is October 11-15. Fall teacher formal evaluations started last week. Upcoming events are Longhorn Line-Ups; Fall sports are wrapping up; End of the quarter is October 22nd; Junior High Play is November 2nd; Youth Risky Behavior Survey will be administered in November; External Team Visit Nov. 9-10; Sophomore will attend UNL Extension 'Connect the Dots' Workshop on November 9th.

7.2. Superintendent's Report
Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk reported the Negotiations Committee will meet by November 1st. ESU6 will host a Senator's Panel for Superintendents and Board Presidents. The NASB Fall Conference will be held November 17-19. Mr. Schrunk, Kelli Schweitzer and Shelly Lehr will be attending. Veterans Day program will be held on November 11th. The Longhorn Tip Line has been added to the school website.

8.1. Discuss Evaluation of Superintendent.
Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk distributed his appraisal process review form.

8.2. Discuss Superintendent Vacation Leave (in accordance with Contract of Superintendent Employment = Saline County School District 76-0044 a.k.a. Dorchester Public School.)
Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk reviewed his vacation days taken in the 2021-2022 school year.

8.3. Review Board of Education Policies #1001-1004 and #2001, 2003, 2004-2004.1.
Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk reviewed policies #1001-General Policy Statement = Purpose of policies; #1002-Creation of Policies; #1003-Mission Statement; #1004-Distribution of Policies; #2001-Role of the Board; #2003-Board Member Development; and #2004-Oath of Office. No changes are recommended at this time.
