The March Board of Education meeting was called to order by President Steve Vyhnalek. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

7.1. Principal's Report
Discussion:
Mr. Weise presented information on Parent Teacher Conference (56% participation), K-6 Reading Coaching with Heidi Farmer. Dorchester hosted the CRC Jr. High and High School Quiz Bowl and SEBL training was held in February. Two students from the speech team are headed to the state contest March 19th. Several members of the Dorchester Foundation visited the school on March 3rd to see the new Smart Boards received from grants. NHS held a blood drive on March 10th and Becky Tyser conducted our student health screenings on March 11st. Mr. Wiese and Ms. Houdek will be working on the 2021 schedule soon. Upcoming activities - Excellence Rallies, Reading Classic, HS track begins, CRC Honor Band and Vocal Clinic, our band will perform at the State Capitol, Digital Citizenship presentation and Kindergarten registration. April activities are Kindergarten roundup on April 1st; Easter Break April 2nd and 5th; Junior ACT Testing on April 6th and School Musical April 9th & 10th. Save the date for the EPAC Carnival on April 16th.

8.1. Review Board of Education Policies #6022, 6024, 6026, 6027, 6030, & 6032.
Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk interpreted policies #6022 - Section 504; #6024 - Student Discipline; #6026 - Emergency Dismissal; #6027 - Field Trips; #6060 - Public Appearance of School Groups; and #6032 - Constitution Day Education. No changes were necessary.

8.2. Committee on American Civics
Discussion:
Mr. Schrunk reviewed SS79-724 Committee on American Civics. He also shared Dorchester Public School's curriculum, which meets the requirements of the law. Mr. Ray contributed some activities completed by Seniors. No public comment.
