II.a. Project update - HVAC and Track
Discussion:
Jon Carlson gave an update with the track. they are looking at pour cement Wednesday if the rainy weather stops.
High jump area is 50 x 10 ft area which is coming along. track is closed to the public.
HVAC-Ottes are doing a good job. they are on top of issues that come along.
Duct work is coming and new duct work is coming in. everyone is on track.
Jon Carlson gave the Board and Administration a
working notebook of the facilities with Analysis concept plans to the facilities.
The Board thanked Jon Carlson for coming the the retreat.

III. Continuous Student Achievement - Goal 1

III.a. Discussion - Future of Early Childhood Education
Discussion:
We are not looking to close the present preschools in Wayne. After meeting with them teachers learned that the ELL prek students are growing.
Is the state going to help schools fund a PreSchool? Will it be equal funding to all school?
WE would be looking at, Criteria, ell, 3 & 4 year olds. What would the curriculum look like?
PreSchool students need the tools to start Kindergarten.
WE do not have the space for preSchool. There is mandator criteria to start.
looked into WSC partnering or other preschool
all day or half days
Do we choose to limit what we are doing presently such as updates to our facilities and hiring speciality teachers and there isn't allot of extra fund to possible having allot of money to fund and early childhood program.
WE know there is a need for a preschool
we need a bond for 10 million
Public schools are responsible for all children in the district.
81 children are enrolled in kindergarten in 2014-15
6 at St.Marys and 2 prek
We would have to have a person incharge of the preschool
build something with the space to expand in the future.
