6.2. Boone Central Recognitions
Discussion:
Knott - National Staff Appreciation Day was on March 7th, I'd like to shout out to all staff in the District for all the work that they do. Roberts - I'd like to recognize the Speech Team. Awesome job so far this season! Fogleman - I would like to recognize Jen Molt and our secretaries. It has been a very sick cold and flu season that puts a lot of sick kids their way to either send home or decide what to do with. I appreciate them being on the forefront of it and hopefully we are moving out of the season. Rolf - Everyone who has helped with activities the past few months. Thank you to those who stepped up and helped out especially while hosting district final events. |

6.3. Continuous School Improvement
Discussion:
Last Friday we closed our NDE Perceptual Surveys. April 17th In Service our staff will take a look at the survey results. As a SIP team, we will look at the data and determine areas of improvement and come up with some action steps in order to improve im the areas of students/staff/parents. We created a TIP team with our SIP team members to come up with goals in the area of special education. This will tie together with our SIP goal. |

LB 399 was reviewed and discussed.

6.5. Superintendent Report
Discussion:
Dr. McDonald discussed the overall review of the YTD budget. We are currently 6.3% under the budget. State Aid for next year will be slightly less than the current amount, adjustments have been made due to the number of students and the formula calculating state aid. Legislative updates were provided. A Superintendent evaluation will take place this month.

6.6. Principal & AD Reports
Discussion:
Larsen - I am currently serving on the External Review Team for Franklin Public Schools today and tomorrow as a part of their 5-year Accreditation Cycle. P/T Conferences Update: Flexible Change to allow for conversations to occur on March 18th, with NO SCHOOL for District Speech, the logistics allow us to schedule a window of time for parents/guardians who wish to have in-person conversations with teachers, will be in the PA Gym from 11:00AM - 3:00PM. A couple of HS Students Represented Boone Central on bigger stages within the last month. Riley Lordemann, Junior, participated on a team of Deaf/Hard of Hearing Students who competed in the Midwest Academic Bowl put on by Gallaudet University in Colorado Springs. Riley was awarded an All-Star Player award as a part of this contest. Congratulations, Riley! Madison Gompert, Senior, won the VFW’s State of Nebraska Voice of Democracy Essay Contest. If you remember, this was the essay she read at our Veterans Day program where she was selected as our local winner. This qualified her for the National Voice of Democracy Contest that is held annually in Washington, D.C. Madison was able to experience our nation’s capital representing not only Boone Central, Albion’s VFW chapter, but also the State of Nebraska during this event. Congratulations, Madison. HS SPED contract is on the agenda for later tonight for Mrs. Alyssa Seier. Mrs. Seier will be coming to us from Norfolk Public Schools where she worked in Special Education primarily with students in what can be described as their "Life Skills" program. She has experience in SPED that will bring knowledge of SPED as well as insight/knowledge/experience to share with our entire SPED Team. Before next month’s meeting, Juniors will take the State-required ACT on April 8th. Test will be at the Caseys Building at the Fairgrounds. Sophomores will also take the Pre-ACT for the 1st time in the Main Gym
Curry- 3rd Quarter classes end Wednesday. Last ¼ class rotation will start on Monday. 8th graders will tour HS classrooms soon. More to report next month. Freshman orientation is March 24th. 5th Grade Orientation will be May 5th. Scheduling for next year is underway. We are looking to add math intervention for students based on certain criteria. This is a result of a need based on our school improvement goal. JH Track starts Wednesday. Middle School Dance will be April 11th. MAP test rostering will begin next week. Spring testing season is almost here. ELPA testing is complete. Results will be available in May. MS Speech will host a meet on Friday, April 2nd. MS Students will be dismissed at 1:00 pm that day. Teachers will assist in helping to run this event. We’ve done this the past several years and it has worked very well. Kayton - 3rd grade just completed Chick Embryology. They will be hosting Community Coffee tomorrow at The Dotted Daisy. Quest For A Million Pennies: local schools teamed up with US 92 in the Quest For A Million Pennies for St. Jude’s Hospital. Boone Central Elementary raised 48,608 pennies aka $486.08! Tuesday March 18th, elementary staff will be working together to pack backpacks for Blessings In A Backpack! They will be available for P/T Conferences from 11:00-3:00 in their classrooms Fifth Grade Orientation is May 5th. Kindergarten Round Up is April 11th, two Half Day Sessions. Preschool Round Up is May 8th. Opportunity for parents to meet the teachers and paras before summer to start building those relationships. Preschool Graduation is May 16th. Preschool Teachers and Albion Child Care provides will be meeting in April Perone - Track participants this year: boys 28, girls 34. Golf has 16. Jeff Hrabik is running with Quiz Bowl, Districts has started. District Speech is coming together, our sponsors and coaches are excited to coach. People want to come work at our events, it’s been refreshing and encouraging to have the officials step up. That is a reflection of our building and staff. Our doors are open, we have a professional environment, our school is attractive and we have a ton of interest in hosting Districts at our facilities. Our BC Club has stepped up and are engaged students. |

9.1 No services are changing from previous years
9.2 Proposal includes 4 days per week next year 9.3 No contract. Discussions have taken place regarding a switch over to Apptegy. A final decision has not been made. We are currently in a contract with Finalsite. 9.4 Three new Certified Contracts to be approved for HS Special Education, MS Science and MS Math 9.5 Finance Committee discussed the high school CKC staff rates for next year. The budget will accommodate this increase. 9.6 Upgrades include staff Macbook Air and Ipad mini devices |
