Rationale:
Communication Effort Respect Responsibility Belief One Good Thing! 5 Minutes of FAME: APL Weekly Focus: Anticipatory Set, Interaction Sequence, Checking for Understanding 1. Health Screens/Strategic Planning: You and your staff that signed up for a health check should have received an email from Health Partners with your appointment time on January 20th. We are working on details for a meeting with Liz Anderson from Thoughtexchange. We are shooting for Thursday at 10:00 with the planning committee to review the agenda and roles for our all-staff meeting on Monday. As you may have seen from the email to all staff, we are also inviting our community leaders to participate in that meeting on Monday. We will be done with district programs at noon. Staff will be on their own for lunch. We plan to have the District Building (Nursing Home) open from 1:30 to 3:00 for staff to come through the building. 2. Early Retirement Eligibility: We updated the list of teachers meeting the minimum age of 55 and met with those interested in December before Christmas break. In order to be eligible for state retirement, they must also meet the Rule of 85. In order to be eligible for an early retirement district incentive, they must also have a Masters Degree or equivalent and 10 years of service. If you have teachers who are 55 or older, and don't meet all of the qualifications of the early retirement policy, the board has considered partial incentives if the number of qualified candidates do not access the program. 3. Gallup Clifton Strengths: Please make sure all of your building NEW staff completes the survey. 4. 2020-21 Calendar Discussion: Dr. Gibbons created a draft calendar for the 20120-21 school year with corresponding dates to the 2019-20 calendar. After our initial discussions, I will forward this calendar and possible recommendations to the SEA. I will meet with the SEA in February to finalize our recommendations for the March School Board Meeting. 5. 2020-21 Teacher/Program Needs: Staffing/program changes for 2020-21 will need to be completed and submitted to me by February 1st. Please focus on your teacher needs at this time. We will address support staff needs by March 1st. 6. Support Staff Monthly Meetings: There will be NO support staff meeting in January due to our Strategic Planning Meeting scheduled for Monday, January See the district meeting site for the February/March/April support staff and SEA meeting schedule. 7. Principals/Director Salary Considerations: The board of education will be acting on administrators 2020-21 salaries in January and will take formal action on your contracts in February. The board finance committee is meeting with me after the board meeting tonight to discuss administrative contracts. 8. Outstanding Staff Awards: Nominations for Outstanding Employees for 2nd Quarter were due Monday, January 6th. Building principals met today at 1:00 to discuss nominations. 9. School Safety/Security Assessment Report: We just received the school safety and security assessment report from School Security Services. You do not need to do anything with the report at this time. Ron Mundil will be working with you and/or custodial staff in the near future on items to be addressed at each building.
