The DHM for the State is operating in Green.  SCS continues to operate in Orange.  The only change for Youth and JH athletics is with the spectator venue limits.  High School activities are required to follow a more restrictive protocol established by the NSAA.

1.  Early Retirement Eligibility:  In December, I sent the updated list of eligible teachers for the early retirement program.  Penny will follow up with those teachers on the list who have expressed interest in applying.  Because this is a new policy, I am not sure the board will honor partial applications, but, teachers partially meeting the requirements may still apply.

2.  School Safety/Security Assessment Report: Dr. Lefdal, Jesse Zavadil, Meridith Riha, and Heather Bebout are registered for this workshop.  It is zoom, so you will stay in your building/office. These building repas along with. 6 other representatives will be involved in a attending a zoom two-day workshop (March 16th & 17th) hosted by NDE (FEMA:  High Quality Emergency Operations Plan). In addition to 6 school members we must include (Emergency Manager, County Sheriff, Chief of Police, Fire Chief) in this training.  We will be updating our plan to match all the requirements of the FEMA Plan.

3.  2021-22 Teacher/Program Needs:  Certified staffing/program changes for 2021-22 will need to be completed and submitted to me by today, February 1st.  Please focus on your current teacher needs at this time.  We will address support staff needs by March 1st. 
SCHS:  Change from intervention room (Scott Petersen) to one more EL Newcomer teacher.

4.  Board Meeting:  School Board Meeting tonight.  School Board Appreciation!  You may zoom to keep our numbers in attendance at the meeting in accordance with COVID-19 protocols.

5.  Administrator Contracts:  The board will act on your 2021-22 contracts on tonight, Monday, February 8th. 

6.  Scooters Gift Cards:  I received the Scooters Gift Cards last Friday.  My office will review the number of employees at each building today and will get those out for you to distribute to your staff in appreciation for their efforts to make in-person learning a reality in our district.  The only request from the donor is that they use them in Schuyler.

7.  Classroom/Teacher Observations:  Please schedule your time to be in classrooms.  Probationary teachers must have a complete classroom observation/evaluation each semester, tenured teachers must have a minimum of one per year.

8.  2021 STRAT Plan Update:  Discussion on recommended updates and draft of 2021 strategic plan and set up possible committee assignments and suggested meeting dates.
