7.E. Approve Capital Outlay request in the amount of $28,270.21 to purchase gym floor coverings for the middle and high school.
Rationale:
The district recently refinished the high school gym floor and installed a new gym floor, representing a significant capital investment in our facilities. Because both gyms are regularly used for events that require chairs, tables, staging, and other equipment to be placed directly on the floor, there is a risk of damage to the finish and surface. To protect this investment, extend the lifespan of the floors, and reduce potential repair or refinishing costs, we are requesting approval to purchase commercial-grade gym floor coverings. Although the purchase will be funded through next year’s Capital Outlay budget, we are seeking to acquire the coverings early to ensure the floors are protected for upcoming spring events.

10.B. Douglas Middle School Addition Update
Rationale:
COOP Architects informed me that they have completed the Construction Documents for the addition at Douglas Middle School. On 2/19/2026 they will be issued for bid. If you like, I can have Jared attend our March 9, 2026 BOE meeting to answer any questions you might have. Bids for the project will be opened on March 12 and Jared and Gustfason Builders will bring the board a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) to be approved by the board at the March 23 BOE meeting.
*The DMS addition came from a recommendation from the Facilities Master Plan Committee the board accepted as a roadmap for facilities improvements in September 2025. The addition is necessary to address building issues relating to student capacity. |
