11.A. BE IT RESOLVED that the Douglas Board of Education, in accordance with Board Policy BBB, hereby sets the Douglas School District Board Election for June 2, 2026. Polls will be open from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm.

Rationale:
The Election will run in conjunction with the City of Box Elder, Meade County and Pennington County Primary Elections.
HB1130 in 2025 changed certain requirements for elections. We are now required to have agreements with Meade County, Pennington County and the City of Box Elder. Once all agreements have been finalized, they will be brought to the Board for approval. One of the requirements that has changed requires us to publish our Notice of Vacancy in December - prior to our normal deadline of the first January Board Meeting when we generally approve the Election date. In addition, the location of the Election may change as part of this new law. More information will follow. |
