Rationale:
On September 11, 2023, we approved an updated BOE Policy EFB. This policy supported charging no fees for reduced-price meals. The approximate cost of this policy over the past two years was approximately $10,000/year. In reviewing the policy and talking with Jennifer Garner, Food Service Coordinator, we realized that the policy needs to be approved by the board of education on a yearly basis.
Reduced price meals: a. The District may cover the costs of reduced-priced meals for all students in the District with annual Board approval. We are asking that the board approve covering the costs of reduced-priced meals for all students in the district. This was an oversight at the beginning of the school year and will be added to the 2025 organizational meeting approvals. |
