Rationale:
The Attached Policies (GA- GDL) were presented as an information item at the April 6 meeting.
Changes include Designee references, grammar, SDCL Reference corrections, and other minor changes. ASBSD updates are included to be in line with legislative session changes. Language deletions have been made to reduce redundancy and obsolete procedures. Updates are included that remove restrictive practices to be more in line with the best interest of the district. Obsolete policies have been recommended for deletion. New Policies proposed to add potential future hiring practices.

Rationale:
We recommend the attached three busses for Salvage.
2004, 71 passenger and the 2010 Special Education bus were approved through the Clean Diesel Grant program and are budgeted for replacement through that grant. The remaining 2004, 71 passenger bus experienced a blown engine, does not qualify for Clean Diesel replacement, and is beyond cost effective repair.

Rationale:
The attached policies within section G of the Douglas District School Board Policies Manual are due for revision, renewal, addition or deletion. These policies represent a large portion of Section G, Personnel. Given the large number of policies in this section, we have added this as an informational item and will have the first reading at the first meeting in May.
