Discussion:
Charlene Jezbera was a visitor and addressed the board in regards to graduation 2025. She asked about the date and time possibly being changed to avoid conflict with other local/neighboring schools.

5.A. Discuss, consider, and take all necessary action to adopt resolution
increasing the school district’s base growth percentage used to determine the school district’s property tax request authority by up to seven percent (7%). |

5.B. Discuss, consider, and take action on ConsensusDocs 830 Standard Owner and Construction Manager as Agent Agreement (CM Provides General Condition Items) with BD Construction, Inc. (Kearney)

Discussion:
Superintendent Patterson discussed with the Board the need to be able to attract activity sponsors to get a CDL, in order to do that, the district needed to change its current practice of driving pay. The new change will allow activity sponsors who driver to be paid total trip time instead of windshield time. The district is still needing attitional bus route drivers as well. Superintendent Patterson is encouraging all staff and board members to help get information out to patrons.

5.E. Discuss, consider and take all necessary action to approve the purchase of activity vehicles to replace non-compliant vehicles.

6. Discussion Items

6.A. Student Transportation Vehicles- 12-15 Passenger Transit vans cannot be used to transport students. The district owns two of these vehicles. Options will be presented to the board for replacing two vehicles that are classified as 12 passenger vehicles.
Discussion:
Superintendent Patterson explained to the Board updated guidance from NDE, the district's insurance company, as well as the district's law firm about the use of 12-15 passenger vans that the district owns that have been modified to seat fewer occupants. New guidance states that this modification that school districts have been doing for years, does not actually comply with Federal Law. The district will no longer utilize the two vehicles that do not comply with Federal Law. Superintendent Patterson will continue to collect bids for different transportation options for the district.
