Mr. Lovin reported on the following items:
* The first quarter ended last Friday. It has been great having the students in the building the entire 1st quarter. The teachers are putting in extra time with students that are not able to be in school. The custodians are continuing to go above and beyond sanitizing the building and covering the square additional footage. *We had 79 out of 103 JH/SH students take part in our second breakfast/access period one morning last week. *One-Act Play Festival on November 9th, 2020. Eight teams will be here on that day and it will last from 8-4. *Sub-District VB will most likely be in Franklin next week. A format change this year is the sub-district is held at the home of the highest seeded team. It is looking like we will play Lawrence-Nelson in the first round. *Football is continuing to battle through injuries. They are 3-3 on the season. They finish the season at home vs. Deshler on Friday. *Cross Country team finished their season at districts last Thursday in Cambridge. No one qualified for state, but the runners all improved their times. Two junior high boys ran at the Junior High State Cross Country Meet in Scottsbluff. Isaiah Springer placed 17th and Spencer Jezbera 51st. There is optimism for next year’s team.Kelly Simmons reported on the following: *Buddy Bench Reveal was held on Sept. 24th - Jadon Harrold and Teammates Buddy Bench project was a success and featured in the Minden and Franklin papers. *Upper Elem team is working hard at finding the educational gaps with students in Reading and Math. *For math we have utilized the MAP test and organized groups into FIT math groups to meet M-TH for 20 min. And on Fridays it is SEL learning using a curriculum called Superflex. *For reading we have been looking at the Oral Reading Fluency results on the AIMS plus test. Any student who is testing low in Oral Reading Fluency receives a Phonics Survey that pins down the skill the student is missing. Teachers are currently working on individualizing activities for students that focus on their skill they are missing.
