March 20, 2020 at 3:00 PM - Board of Education Special Meeting

Discussion:  Visitors in attendance:  William Henderson, Julie Rahmann, Todd Bebensee, Ryan Jurgens, Tracy Carr, Kelly Sheen, Carla Wilson, Michelle Konert, and Tanice Twohig

Discussion:  Discuss return to work agreement. Employee promises not to resign from Wilcox-Hildreth Public School during closure of school and not seek any other employment. Be willing to work in an on-call status.  
Superintendent Patterson presented two options to the board.

Suggesting that Superintendent has the right to make decisions on staffing of non-certified staff.
Agreement would continue until end of school year which is May 18, 2020.

NDE is pushing districts to pursue e-learning. Governor has not given guidace yet on how he is going to close schools yet. Superintendent Patterson discussed different options of educating students. We need to follow specific guidelines in educating our students. Can use enrichment lesson plans to educate students. Waiting on guidance from NDE before moving forward with educating students. Teachers were in to discuss possibility of enrichment exercises.

95% of our students have internet access. All families were contacted to see internet accessibility. 

All school districts in the State of Nebraska were instructed to have plans in place and closure was to take place by today of all Nebraska school districts.
