3.A. Dental Insurance
Description:
Background: Currently, CCS has two classes for Dental Insurance:
A. Administrative and Licensed FT Exempt Staff B. Non-Exempt FT Hourly Staff, Non-Licensed FT Exempt and Hourly Contracted (more than 176 days) Staff For Licensed staff and Directors, the CCS contributes (pays) the single coverage (currently $41.55/month, will be $39.50/month effective 1/1/23), and contributes the same amount to the family plan. All Other Employees may elect and pretax the dental premium but are not given a contribution from the school. Issue: By offering non-licensed exempt and hourly staff health insurance, those staff will become non-eligible for low/no-cost health plans available through the state. These plans commonly have dental coverage included. The high-deductible plan that these staff will now have to sign up for through the school does not include dental. Therefore, these staff will have to purchase this additionally.
