Ron Hagland, Supervisor of the Office of Education Equity, presented an update and shared current data measuring the impact the Integration Specialists are having on our students being served by them.

1.A.2) TXT4LIFE Presentation

David Lee presented information on TXT4LIFE, which is a suicide prevention program that will be implemented in Duluth Public Schools' middle and high schools.

2.B. Policy 6300 - Wellness Policy

Revisions to Policy 6300 Wellness Policy were presented for the second reading.

Attached is Resolution E-1-12-2961 - Acceptance of Grant Awards to Duluth Public Schools, to accept and approve grant awards for the following organization:

-Target Field Trips - Scholarship America          

2.D. Extended Trip Requests

The following extended trip request is submitted for approval:

East High School's Orchestra students in grades ten - twelve will be traveling to Seattle, Washington from April 4-10, 2012 to perform, experience a diverse culture, and study music.  The cost of the trip is $700 per student and will be funded with student fees.
