Rationale: 

Public Participation at Board of Education Meetings:

BOE Policy/Regulation 8346 outlines the parameters of public participation at Board meetings concerning items on the agenda as well as those not on the agenda.  A copy of this policy is available in the Superintendent’s office and at each monthly Board meeting.

Rationale:  Jordyn Falkenstine is the February ACE of the month.  Jordyn selected, Gone With the Wind, which is over a thousand-page book to read as a part of Mrs. Sidman's class "Read-a-pillar!" 


Ashlyn Trevarton is the Elementary ACE for the month.  Mrs. Turecek noticed Ashlyn being kind to her peers during recess when they needed a friend!  Way to go, Ashlyn!  

Rationale:  In the past, the school has subsidized the cost of the program for our students.  This year, the cost of the program is $330.00 in the past the cost was $315.00.  $120 is the amount we subsidized the students last year.  This seems to work very well and we usually have 15 or fewer students.  The remaining $210.00 would be the responsibility of the parent or guardian. The dates of Driver's Education at Franklin Public Schools will be June 29- July 2 this summer from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm.  Range simulation date in Kearney will be Friday, July 3 from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Franklin Public Schools will provide transportation to Kearney for the range simulation.

Rationale:  Throughout the school year, we have begun to see an increase in incidents of students vaping in school, but have not been able to catch students in the act.  We have found paraphernalia at different points in the year (see attached example), and have had many rumors of students who are vaping in the restrooms. 

Therefore, we would like to discuss the possibility of putting vape detectors in the high school restrooms and JH/HS locker rooms.
