11. RESOLUTION: APPROVAL OF 8TH AMENDMENT - WIXOM PROPERTY
On October 6, 2016, Walled Lake Consolidated Schools approved a purchase agreement to sell 14 +/- acres of land it owns at 3515 West Maple Road, Wixom, Michigan to Thomco Development Company in the amount of $418,625, pursuant to site plan approval by the City of Wixom. Following several attempts, Thomco has been unable to secure site plan approval and has requested approval to assign its interest in this property to FPC-Noble Wixom, LLC. For this consideration, Thomco and FPC-Noble Wixom have agreed to increase the purchase price to $468,675. Closing of the sale remains contingent on site plan approval by the City of Wixom. |
12. TRANSPORTATION SERVICES CONTRACT EXTENSION AND FIRST AMENDMENT
The contract with Dean Transportation expired on June 30, 2021. Since 2013, Dean has proven to be a reliable partner in providing safe and effective pupil transportation services. As a result, Administration recommends a five-year contract extension from July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2026, that includes performance requirements to achieve specified safety ratings for bus inspections and DOT safety records. The five-year extension proposes a projected 2.75% increase in each year and reflects changes to how school cancelation days are billed. Additionally, Administration recommends approving the First Amendment to the contract, which provides a service enhancement incentive from November 1, 2021 to June 30, 2023, that will increase the compensation of all Dean employees in Walled Lake Schools. |
13. BOARD POLICY REGULATION UPDATES
The Board Policy Administrative Regulations fees and fines are reflected in 2001- AR Student Fees, Deposits, Fines and Charges have been updated to reflect language changes for the 2021-22 school year. Prime Time Care school start and end times, and the School Lunch and Breakfast program, which currently provides students free meals, have been updated. Additionally, 4000-AR Central Office Administrators and Building Administrators has been updated to reflect administrative changes in the District. These Board Policy regulations are being submitted as informational items prior to updating the web-based Board Policy Manual. |
