The safest schools are those in which the school climate reflects and promotes values of trust, respect, appreciation for diversity, and open channels of communication between staff and students. The Michigan Safe Schools Week (October 17-23) is a week-long campaign to raise awareness on effective ways to prevent or reduce violence in our schools.
