Description:
* Unified Sports is an inclusive program combing Special Olympic Utah athletes and their student partners for training and competition.
* The program leads to new friendships, builds empathy, fosters inclusion, and creates a better understanding of students and their peers. * First Annual Basketball Tournament organized and held at Clearfield High * Over 100 student-athletes participated in the Clearfield High tournament * First district-wide involvement at the state basketball tournament held at Weber State University * Two state championship teams invited to the Jazz game where they received recognition, and allowed to shoot baskets on the Jazz court after the game |

1.D. STUDENT PERFORMANCE

1.D.1. Viewmont High Guitar Students
Presenter:
Ms. Shanda Stenger
Description:
Viewmont is the only High School with a guitar specific teacher. Mr. Robinson teaches Guitar 1, 2, and 3 and also History of Rock and Roll. Tonight, they will be featuring a smaller guitar ensemble.
The students will perform "To Be With You", by Mr. Big. Students include: Zion Ray, Ammon Connors, Catcher Bean, Jack Higginson, Mason Broderick, Nathan Hale, Jason Rawlins, Sam Stark, Luke Anderegg, Cameron Jensen. |

1.E.1. Mr. Randy Galbraith, Athletic Officiator
Presenter:
Dr. Tim Best
Description:
Randy completed 37 years as a reserve and active duty with the Defense Depot and the U.S. Army. His first year officiating was 1964. He began officiating jr. high and high school athletics in 1968. He has officiated in Paris, Germany, Athens, Madrid, England, Scotland, and the United States. Randy has officiated tens of thousands of Davis County residents.

1.E.2. DSD Wellness Program

Description:
The Board will recognize Ms. Kim Johnson and Davis School District Employee Wellness Program for having received the Worksite Wellness Innovative Award from the Utah Worksite Wellness Council. DSD is the only Utah school district to receive the Silver award. Some of the recent presentations are:

1.E.3. Centennial National NAL Champions
Presenter:

Description:
National Academic League is a junior high competition based on content in ELA, science, math, and social studies. Davis School District has participated in this nation-wide competition since 1995. Centennial Junior High has been the district champion twice before (in 2018 and 2014) but in 2022 the school’s team became the first ever to advance to the national tournament and eventually claim the title as national champions. Along with Utah, teams from Colorado, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Kansas, and North Carolina played in the national tournament this year. Coaches of the Centennial team are Rob Rohwer and Trisha Turley. Brandon Anderson, a former player and current student at Farmington High School, served as a volunteer coach. Eva Largey and Ethan Plyer were 3rd quarter captains. The principal is Cerissa Thompson. Student teams members are:
