VIII.C.1. Consideration for Approval and Adoption of 2018-2019 Tax Rate
Description:
The Maintenance & Operation proposed tax rate is $1.12 and the Debt Service proposed rate is $0.28. The attached ordinance incorporates the language required or recommended to comply with state law. A public hearing is not required when the adopted rate is less than or equal to the proposed rate when the budget was adopted. Administration is recommending maintaining the current $1.40 tax rate, which is $0.02 lower than the rate proposed at the time of budget adoption. A copy of the ordinance is included in the board packet.
Recommendation: Approve the property tax rate of $1.12 for Maintenance & Operations and $0.28 for Debt Service, for a total tax rate of $1.40 per $100 of valuation.

VIII.D.1. District Enrollment and Elementary Class Sizes
Description:
As of August 31, 2018, district enrollment is 8,645 students which is 25 more than the previous year’s snapshot data. According to our District of Innovation Plan, if an elementary class size exceeds 22 students for more than 35 days, the Board of Trustees must be notified. Attached is a spreadsheet detailing all elementary class sizes by grade and by campus.
