Description:
Attendees will sign-in, the committee chair will call the meeting to order, and attendees will introduce themselves.

Description:
We will review the meeting notes from the previous meeting.

2.2. Early Childhood Programming
Description:
Min Martin-Oakes, our Early Childhood Director, will provide information about preschool programming and the Early Childhood Network through Every Hand Joined.

2.3. Discussion with Dennis Olson about Roles and Responsibilities
Description:
Dennis Olson of the Minnesota Department of Education has been invited to discuss the roles and responsibilities of the school district, Prairie Island Indian Community, and American Indian Parent Committee with regard to American Indian education.

2.4. American Indian (AMI) Education Aid Funding
Description:
We will discuss plans about how the district plans to use AMI funding for this year and future years.
|

2.5. Grant Update
Description:
1. Language Revitalization Grant: Prairie Island reapplied for this grant but did not receive it.
2. Johnson O'Malley Grant: Karsten contacted a representative to discuss. 3. Big Read Grant: This grant supports organizations to develop community-wide reading programs. Tribal governments can apply but schools cannot apply. No update at this time. 4. Federal Demonstration Grants: 5. Eagle Feather Grants: Carrie and Art are working on this. |

Description:
Members will be given the opportunity to ask questions or make additional suggestions.

3. Upcoming Meetings and Adjournment
Description:
Possible upcoming topics include a review of student enrollment counts, district support services, targeted services programming, special education programming, and Section 504 programming.
