2.1. Review Meeting Notes
Description:
We will review the meeting notes from the previous meeting.

2.2. Roles and Responsibilities of Committee and Committee Members
Description:
At our last meeting, we talked about how to make changes to the committee structure. We will discuss roles and responsibilities of the committee and its members. I am assuming that parents on the committee will begin setting the agenda, running the meetings, taking notes, and communicating with district officials as necessary.

2.3. American Indian (AMI) Education Aid Funding Formula
Description:
Beginning this school year, Red Wing Public Schools will be receiving about $65,000 per year to enhance programming for American Indian children. At our last meeting, we had some preliminary discussions about how the money will be spent, and we will continue those discussions during this meeting.

2.5. Curriculum-Related Issues
Description:
1. Curriculum Standards and Curriculum Writing: Standards will be addressed during curriculum review cycles.
2. Professional Development for Teachers: An orientation for new teachers was held during teacher inservice week; Teachers will be viewing Whitewater Learning Module and discussing content during PLCs. Prairie Island conducted a weeklong training in June for parents and educators. 3. Dakota Language Immersion Class / HS Class: This could be considered for inclusion in the AMI plan. 4. November is Native American Month |
2.6. Grant Update
Description:
1. Language Revitalization Grant: Prairie Island reapplied for this grant but did not receive it.
2. Johnson O'Malley Grant: Karsten will contact representative to discuss further. 3. Big Read Grant: This grant supports organizations to develop community-wide reading programs. Tribal governments can apply but schools cannot apply. No update at this time. 4. Federal Demonstration Grants: 5. Eagle Feather Grants: Karsten will proceed when a tribal membership number is received. |

Description:
Members will be given the opportunity to ask questions or make additional suggestions.

3. Upcoming Meetings and Adjournment
Description:
Possible upcoming topics include a review of student enrollment counts, district support services, targeted services programming, special education programming, and Section 504 programming.
