XXIV.B.1. Request for Release from Contract
|
|
XXIV.B.1.a. K.K., a Second Grade Teacher at LLE, requested a release from her contract. Records were reviewed regarding the reason for the mid-year resignation.
On Motion by Hensarling, seconded by Slade and Unanimous Vote, with Hensarling, Carlisle, Farmer and Slade voting "yea", the Board declined to release her contract until a qualified replacement has been hired and, in accordance with Board policy, MDE will be notified of the abandonment of contract and the Board requests that the teaching licenses be revoked in accordance with MDE policy. The administration identified a request for release from the contract, but a review of the request showed that the teacher will finish her contract and will not accept a new contract. No action was taken by the Board. |

XXIV.C. Litigation Matters
|
|
XXIV.C.1. Board counsel provided updates for the potential litigation on a 16th section matter. The matter has been resolved, and no litigation was involved. Counsel also provided an update on a lawsuit involving K.M. and discovery that is ongoing. Depositions are being taken, and a review was made regarding the facts of this case and the involvement of counsel. The last matter discussed by Board counsel was a public records request related to Baxterville schools. The request was from an attorney who has threatened legal proceedings related to prior board actions. No payment has been received for the records, therefore final records have not been forwarded.
