4.A.1. Discuss HS Principal hire
Description:
Superintendent recommends Daniel Pritchett, coming from Big Sandy ISD, to be hired as the new HS Principal. His hometown is Daingerfield. Superintendent recommends a salary of $57,000 with a 2 year contract. We discussed a tentative start date of July 18th, and he will be moving into the District Residence once repairs are completed. He has extensive knowledge of State and Federal Programs and Curriculum. I feel very confident in this recommendation. Mr. Pritchett seems to be a very good fit for Avery.

Description:
Superintendent recommends Susan Armstrong for the Spanish position opening.

4.A.4. Discuss Support Staff pay
Description:
Maintanence Director pay for last year was calculated over 22 pay periods, which led to issues when converted to this year at 24 pay periods.

5.B. Set HS Principal Salary, Benefits and Contract length
Description:
Superintendent recommends a salary of $57,000, a 12 month contract for 2 years & housing as discussed in prior meetings. Superintendent also recommends a tenant agreement be signed by the new HS Principal prior to moving into the District residence. Longevity at Avery was discussed extensively by the interview committee and in his call back interview. We should extend the same commitment to him we are asking from him.

5.C. Set Elementary/MS Contract Length
Description:
If the board decides to grant Mr. Pritchett a 2 yr contract, Ms. Jeans should receive the same gesture of trust.

Description:
