Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences are scheduled for the week of February 8th-11th in the Norfolk Public Schools.  They are being held as follows:

• February 8 -- 4:00-7:30 -- Elementary, Middle School and Junior High
• February 9 -- 4:00-7:30 -- Elementary and Senior High
• February 10 -- 4:00-7:00 -- Middle School, Junior and Senior High
• February 11 -- 1:00-4:00 -- Elementary Schools
• February 12 -- NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS OR STAFF

Norfolk Public Schools will have five (5) students attending the UNMC Dental School in Lincoln on Friday, February 5th, to receive much needed dental work.  Over the past 10-11 years approximately 200 Norfolk Public School students have received services from the dental school.  This has been a very valuable program for the needy students in the Norfolk Public Schools.

Beginning February 15th ELL students in the Norfolk Public Schools will start their annual language development assessments using the instrument entitled ELDA (English Language Development Assessment).  This is an assessment instrument that allows Norfolk to measure the language growth of our second language students during the last 12 months.  This assessment helps Norfolk establish the program exit criteria for students.  The collected data also allows the state to evaluate our school on our Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAO) that we use for our NCLB Title III LEP Education Grant.

All NPS 3rd and 4th graders will be attending the Norfolk Art Center's Spring Festival on Febuary 17th and 18th.
