As part of the annual budget, a $5 million line of credit has been included to mitigate cash flow concerns due to the timing of tax payments. Each year, the line of credit must be reauthorized, the current line of credit with First Interstate Bank FKA- Great Western bank matures on December 15, 2022.

E.1. *Bellevue East and Bellevue West Marching Band

Rationale:
The Bellevue East Chieftain Marching Band & Bellevue West Thunderbird Marching Band competed October 8th. Bellevue East captured 1st place in the 4A class and swept all captions at the Dutchmen Field Championship. Bellevue West competed at Valleyfest. They captured 1st overall and also Music, Visual, and Percussion.
The Bellevue East Chieftain Marching Band & Bellevue West Thunderbird Marching Band competed October 15th at Champion of Champions in Columbia, Missouri. Bellevue East captured first place in their class and third place overall, while earning second place in general effect & visual captions. Bellevue West captured first place in their class and overall Champion of Champions, while also earning first place in all captions. The Bellevue East Chieftain Marching Band & Bellevue West Thunderbird Marching Band competed October 22nd at the Nebraska State Band Championships. Congrats to both schools on a fantastic showing! The Thunderbirds are the 4A class champions and captured 3rd place overall. The Chieftains captured 3rd place in the 4A class and 6th place overall. |
E.2. *Unified Champion School

The Special Olympics recently named LeMay Elementary a Unified Champion School, one of 12 elementary schools in Nebraska to be chosen. LeMay held a pep rally October 5th to celebrate the big news. Bellevue West's dance team and color guard performed for the students and staff, along with some special comments from Greg Harris, a Special Olympics Nebraska board member.
The Unified Champion banner represents that LeMay is really good at helping students of all different abilities come together, compete together, play together and do activities to build friendships. The next day, October 6th, was Unified LeMay Day with Special Olympics Nebraska. Students participated in activity and fitness stations provided by Special Olympics; these activities are all meant to encourage awareness and support inclusion. Special thanks to Bellevue East and Bellevue West student athletes for helping support the stations and activities. |
E.3. *Nebraska International Languages Association Pro Lingua Award

Congratulations to Mr. Ron Oltman and Birchcrest Elementary! Mr. Oltman was recently honored by the Lozier Foundation as one of three Metro elementary educators with the "Outstanding Principal" award.
This recognition celebrates the efforts in improving students' MAP test scores over the course of the past school year. To qualify for the Lozier Foundation award, principals must lead an elementary school with 50% or more students qualifying for free and reduced lunch and demonstrate significant growth in the MAP assessment for reading or math from the fall of 2021 to spring of 2022.
