7.e. Math Textbook Adoption
Rationale:
Background Information: Due to teacher input about concern with 2014-2015 mathematics textbook series, mathematics textbooks went under a comprehensive review during the 2016-2017 school year. Three committees of classroom teachers representing each grade band and each school along with parent representatives reviewed textbooks in the area of math K-Algebra II (Section I of the State Adoption Cycle).
Recommendation: I recommend that Sullivan County adopt the following textbooks per textbook committee recommendation with intent to purchase: K-5: Envision (Pearson) 6-8: HMH (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt) 9-Alg II: HMH (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt)
I further recommend that mathematics textbooks purchased in prior years from the previous vendor be declared surplus. |
