Rationale:  To accept the resignation of certificated personnel from their present position with the Bloomfield Community Schools
To approve the employment contract of new certificated personnel. The superintendent will disclose the salary, building assignment(s), teaching assignment(s), the expected impact of the new employee concerning the District Goals, and other information the new employee permits the superintendent to share with the BOE and the public.

Rationale:  Policy & Governance: Requires that these policies be reviewed annually by the Board of Education (BOE).

Rationale:  The 5001 form has led to confusion and has not been kept current as immunization laws changed over the years. It is recommended to rescind this form. The US DOE is requiring NDE to specifically tailor Title I Involvement policies. We need to rescind the combined policy 6410 in order to adopt the new policies.  

Rationale:  The NE legislature has adjourned. Legislative action has dictated a need for a number of policy revisions and adoptions as recommended by Perry Law Firm.

Rationale:  AM 1617 to LB150 updates Nebraska's Fair Employment Practice Act to add "military veteran status" as a protected class. As a result, our nondiscrimination policies have been updated to add this new protected class. 

Rationale:  Several bidding references were updated in the federal regulations. These policies have been updated by Perry Law Firm to reflect those changes.

Rationale:  LB 143 tweaked the student admission status for military families. Policy 5001 has been updated to make this more clear. 

Rationale:  NDE Rule 91 requires a medical exam for drivers of small vehicles (10 passengers or less, vans and cars) when driving routes but not for activity only drivers. Policy 3410 has  been updated to clarify this. 

Rationale:  Updates in federal driving requirements require adding language to this policy for bus drivers relating to alcohol and drug reporting to the federal Clearinghouse. 

Rationale:  There are 3 main changes to our student discipline policy 5101 as recommended by Perry Law Firm to reflect statutory changes from the legislature. Corrections and clarifications have been made to:

Cell Phones
Deep Fakes

Rationale:  LB 306 updates the PT enrollment status to provide more options for non-public students to participate in extracurricular activities. The 5004 policy changes reflect this. 

Rationale:  With changes to policy 5101, references to dress code violations have been removed from 5103 also. 

Rationale:  The legislature adopted a new law that allows parents to require their student to repeat a grade if they meet the criteria and submit the form to NDE. This policy has been updated to reflect that. 

Rationale:  The USDOE has issued new guidance to update parental rights under FERPA. Our policy has been changed to reflect that. 

Rationale:  LB 89 requires each school district to adopt a policy designated school sponsored teams and sports as biologically male, female or co-ed. Policy 5301 authorizes the Superintendent to make the required designations.

Rationale:  This policy has been revised to give school administrators more discretion in identifying high ability learners.

Rationale:  Policy 5507 is a new policy needed to clarify a school district's foster care transportation requirements needed for NDE audits. 

Rationale:  For reasons listed in policy 5101, LB 140's cell phone requirements have been added to this new policy.

Rationale:  LB 71 requires the updated parental involvement policy 6400.

Rationale:  LB 1329 requires each school district to adopt a policy on behavioral intervention, classroom management and removal of the student from the classroom. This new policy ensures compliance. 

Rationale:  Discussion of lunch and breakfast prices for the upcoming school year and action to set prices is needed.

Rationale:  An annual review of the terms of the agreement by the board and associated action to renew.

Rationale:  Need to set activity ticket prices for 2025-26 school year.

Rationale:  The Board of Education (BOE) conducts an annual self-evaluation. This evaluation is driven by the nine NASB Board Governance Standards, which the Bloomfield Community Schools have adopted. These evaluations provided feedback on the Board's areas for growth and those requiring further development or attention.

Rationale:  Justin Jindra has come into possession of the sign that was formerly displayed on the edge of town. It highlights the achievements of the district. We would like to discuss what to do with it.
