Description:  Hallstrom-Clark  (EC) — All items to be completed by September 30th. $161,619.38 remains to be paid. 

Lobar (GC) - Trees scheduled for October 12th. Roller case, damaged reading nook, and exterior storm water drain work is TBD. $5,000 in retainage to be paid.

Hostler (HVAC) - Warraty items remain but contractor has not responded. KCSD Solicitor is aware, and we are holding $36,275.81 in retainage. 

Description:  Renovo Elementary School — concrete sidewalk replacement to begin in mid-October. 

Description:  Robb Elementary School has classrooms in the basement of the building which have been there for several decades. During heavy rain events, the soil surrounding the building becomes saturated. Some of that water will seep through the concrete block walls and into the building.

In 2025, the maintenance team removed cork boards and shelving units that were attached to the exterior walls. The walls were then sealed and repainted. The material that those items were constructed of is very susceptible to water absorption. Over time, that material, along with the concrete block, then becomes discolored. This discoloration can be mistaken for mold. To settle any debates over mold being present in the building, we hired a contractor to complete an air study which tests the level of mold spores. It was determined that no abnormal level of mold was present inside the building. 

During the summer of 2026, we removed shelving units, scrubbed the block walls, sealed, and repainted some additional classrooms. The maintenance team also inspected the gutter system and downspouts to see if any water was backing up. They even bore scoped the underground piping with a camera to ensure no blockages were present. 

We believe the gutter system is getting overwhelmed by the volume of water coming off the roof in heavy storms which spills over onto the ground around the school. The maintenance team is currently making some adjustments to where the existing downspouts deposit their water.

The long-term fix to this will be to replace the existing gutter system, trench all downspouts to the city's underground stormwater drain system, install a new French drain system around the entire school, and reseal the exterior of the concrete foundation.
