3.A. Policy 306 Employment of Summer School Staff / Retirement of Policy 406 in the Professional Employees Section
Description:
Current Section 400 Professional Employees Policy 406 Employment of Summer School Staff is related only to professional employees. New Policy 306 will appear in the Employees section and will apply to all board-approved staff who support summer education and operations functions (e.g. teachers, ESY, ELD, and support staff). The updated policy includes language which aligns with the Pennsylvania School Code. Specifically, new language addresses the requirement for clearances. Policy 406 was last updated in 1997. |

3.B. Policy 314.1 HIV Infection / Retirement of Current Policies 314.1, 414.1 and 514.1
Description:
Policy 314.1, 414.1 and 514.1 have not been updated since 1997. The updated PSBA template aligns with Pennsylvania Health and Safety statutes. In consolidating the employee sections of the Policy Manual into one Employee section, Policies 414.1 and 514.1 will be retired upon approval of Policy 314.1. |

Description:

Description:
Policy 716 was last updated in 1997. The policy update provides additional context regarding requirements for integrated pest management, including timeframes for notification and signage for pesticide applications. The definition of integrated pest management has been updated to align with state regulations. This policy is recommended for legal liability purposes.
