5.A. Based upon the recommendation of the Superintendent and Business Manager, the Board of School Directors hereby authorizes:

Renewal of a contracted services agreement with Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) to prepare for mailing and forward with postage to all District property owners details of the 2026-2027 Sto-Rox School District Homestead/Farmstead Exclusion on behalf of the District and at a current cost not to exceed $1.10 per notice, with an additional fee of $2.50 per thousand notices to be charged for address verifications, and an additional administrative fee of $150.00 to be charged

5.A.3. Acceptance of the latest Fresh Fruit and Vegetable grant awarded by Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) in the amount of $37,666.00 to be used in support of cafeteria operations at the Sto-Rox Primary( $22,792.00) and Sto-Rox Upper  Elementary ( $14,874.00) Schools.

5.B. Based upon the recommendation of the Superintendent and Director of Buildings and Grounds, the Board of School Directors hereby authorizes:

5.B.1.  Permission to sell District-owned property, including but not limited to wood shop equipment having been stored at Sto-Rox Junior-Senior High School and not actively used for more than three (3) years to John Minarik, who was deemed to be the highest responsible bidder in the public bidding process, and at a cost of $2,000.00. 
 

5.B.2. Permission to sell District-owned property, including but not limited to wood shop materials and related products having been stored at Sto-Rox Junior-Senior High School and not actively used for more than three (3) years to John Minarik, who was deemed to be the highest responsible bidder in the public bidding process, and at a cost of $1,000.00.

5.B.3. Facility Use Request as submitted by Girl Scout Troops 46789/52844 for use of specific District facilities (Primary Center) to facilitate 13 afternoon/evening meetings between 10/15/26 and 4/22/27 in a designated classroom and in accordance with SRSD Policy 707.(10/15/26, 10/29/26, 11/12/26, 12/3/26, 12/17/26, 1/14/27, 1/28/27, 2/11/27, 2/25/27, 3/11/27, 3/25/27, 4/8/27, 4/22/27)

6.A. Based upon the recommendation of the Superintendent and Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, the Board of School Directors hereby authorizes:

6.A.1. Adoption of the new K-12 Math Curriculum that has been arranged in grade-specific, individual units that specify anticipated duration of related instruction, targeted concepts/content/vocabulary, evidence of standards-alignment, and recommended assessments

6.A.2. Purchase of the following curriculum resources:

• 1-year subscription renewal of Accessit K-6 library database system through vendor Follett Software, at a cost not to exceed $2,731.31

• 1-year renewal of access to WonderWorks K-6 supplementary reading program through vendor McGraw-Hill, at a cost not to exceed $5,128.34

• 1-year digital access renewal of AP Biology digital resources through vendor McGraw-Hill, at a cost not to exceed $2,035.20.

• 7 AP Biology textbooks through vendor McGraw-Hill, at a cost not to exceed $943.34 (due to increased student interest)

6.A.3. Enter into a partnership agreement with Consortium for Public Education during the 2026-2027 school year whereby the District will be an active cohort participant in the Consortium’s Building a Positive School Climate program at no cost to the District based on a fee waiver as requested by Principal Johnston that was approved by the Consortium and whereby a District-level team will be convened to meet the program goals of equipping educators with the resources, structures, and collaborative support needed to develop and sustain initiatives that cultivate a strong sense of belonging within partner schools.

6.A.4. Renewal of a partnership agreement with the Adopt-A-School Initiative, whereby Reliable Structural Engineers will be donating to Sto-Rox Upper Elementary School in school years 2026-2027, 2027-2028, and 2028-2029, an extensive school kit containing various brand new supplies to be distributed among classrooms at the discretion of Principal Johnson.

6.B. Based upon the recommendation of the Superintendent and Director of Student Services/Title IX Coordinator, the Board of School Directors hereby authorizes:

6.B.1. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Amachi Pittsburgh to provide for students who meet program eligibility during the 2026-2027 school year, and with the permission of individual legal guardians, in-school mentoring and referrals for programming outside of school at no cost to the family or District.

6.B.2. A contracted services agreement with Pittsburgh Applied Behavior Analytic Therapies and Services (PABATS), whereby an appropriately credentialed PABATS, LLC representative (Dr. Eric Bieniek) will complete a formal Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) on an identified Sto-Rox School District student at a cost not to exceed $140.00 per hour in addition to a separate mileage fee to be billed at the federal minimum rate.

6.B.3.  Renewal of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with First Tee Pittsburgh to continue a partnership between First Tee Pittsburgh (FTP) and the Sto-Rox School District for the 2026-2027 school year whereby students, with legal guardian permission, will have access to First Tee Pittsburgh programming that has been designed to create a pathway for students to grow both on and off the golf course in the areas of self-management, using good judgment, effective communication, goal setting, and resilience.  It is further acknowledged that access to FTP programming will be offered in-school and/or after-school offsite based on participating student grade levels.

7.A. Based upon the recommendation of the Superintendent and Director of Security and Emergency Preparedness, the Board of School Directors hereby authorizes:

7.A.1. Ratification of permission to provide Vector Security with a 30-day formal notification of the District’s intention to terminate electronic monitoring services at the Sto-Rox Primary and Sto-Rox Upper Elementary Schools at the close of the 30-days.  

7.A.2. Ratification of permission to contract with Omega Security Systems, Inc. to provide 24/7 electronic monitoring services at the Sto-Rox Primary Center and Sto-Rox Upper Elementary School, effective August 24, 2026 through August 23, 2027 at a total cost for both schools not to exceed $90.00 per month, and given that Omega Security Systems, Inc. was deemed to be the lowest responsible bidder in the public bidding process.  It is further acknowledged that, in the event building-level system upgrades are recommended by Omega Security Systems, Inc. and approved by the District in the future, the purchase and/or installation of component parts and system upgrades will be billed separately

8.A.  At the recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board of School Directors hereby approves the first and final reading of the following Sto-Rox School District Policies being referred by District Administration for acknowledgement of review and/or recommendation for edit:

9.B. At the recommendation of the Superintendent and Acting JS/HS Principal, the Board of School Directors hereby authorizes facilitation of the annual Homecoming Dance on October 3, 2026 at VFW 418 Hall located at 1242 Chartiers Avenue, McKees Rocks, PA according to the rental agreement required by VFW 418, with associated event costs being covered primarily by 2026-2027 student fundraising.  Additionally, the Business Office is hereby authorized to supplement payment of event costs with a portion of Student Activities Funds that remained unused for more than three (3) years and that was redistributed among established JS/HS student organizations, including but not limited to Student Council, sponsor of the Homecoming Dance, with total supplemental funds not exceeding Student Council’s portion of redistributed funds.

10.A. At the recommendation of the Director of Student Services/Title IX Coordinator, the Board of School Directors hereby approves the addition of the following Soliant employees to provide Paraprofessional Aide staff support services and/or related support on behalf of Sto-Rox School District according to a previously approved contracted-services agreement:

10.D. At the recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board of School Directors hereby approves the addition of the following Donations in accordance with SRSD policy 702:

Acceptance of a $200.00 cash donation to be used at the discretion of Principal Mumau in support of Sto-Rox Primary Center operations and activities made available through a generous donation from Judith Alexander, with $100.00 being donated in memory of Bill Novak and $100.00 being donated in memory of Rachael Hudzik Thomas.

10.E. At the recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board of School Directors hereby authorizes continued, active participation with The Education Partnership and acceptance of any/all donations offered by The Education Partnership that have been directly approved for acceptance by the Superintendent, with distribution of said donations within Sto-Rox School District as deemed mutually agreeable by The Education Partnership and the Superintendent

11.A. At the recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board of School Directors hereby approves/ratifies the following personal matters:

11.A.1. Acknowledgement and correction of omitted salary information not included in the June 24, 2026 voting resolution that was approved by a majority of the Board of School Directors, whereby Ashley Vojtecky’s identified salary in the position of PIMS/Central Registrar/Board Secretary did not reflect an annual stipend of $5,000 that has been awarded to past Board Secretaries beyond the base salary to cover completion of regular duties necessary to support the Board of School Directors beyond the traditional workday.  As such, the Business Office is authorized to apply the stipend, retroactive to July 1, 2026.

11.A.2. Amend the approved FMLA request submitted by Employee #1653 and accepted by a majority of the Board of School Directors on August 20, 2026 to reflect a revised term of August 18, 2026 through November 2, 2026.

12.A. At the recommendation of the Solicitor, the Board of School Directors hereby authorizes a contracted services agreement with law firm Campbell Durant. P.C. whereby Campbell Durant will assume the role of primary negotiator for the Sto-Rox School District in matters relating to the unresolved Collective Bargaining Agreement between Sto-Rox School District and Sto-Rox Education Association, with no duplication of services to occur with the District Solicitor Weiss Burkardt Kramer, LLC.
