The Board of Education is being provided with information regarding an extension of the District’s engagement with Plante Moran. The engagement extension would continue services between Plante Moran and Napoleon Community Schools through June 2027.

This item is being presented for informational purposes so the Board is aware of the continued engagement timeline and related business office planning. If formal Board approval, contract authorization, or signature authority is required, the item should be placed on a future agenda as a Board action item with the engagement letter or extension document attached.

The Board of Education is being provided with information regarding a proposed Puerto Rico trip for Spanish students.

The trip information includes a tentative travel window of June 11-16, with direct flights from Detroit to San Juan being explored. Group fare information must be finalized at least 45 days prior to departure, and if the group does not have at least 10 participants, individual pricing and variations may apply.

The proposal includes transportation and itinerary planning, lodging, travel insurance, estimated student costs, eligibility requirements, and fundraising information. The rough estimated total cost listed in the information packet is $1,800-$2,000 per student, based on the information available as of 09/04.

Student participation requirements include successful completion of at least Spanish 2, preference for students in Spanish 3 or above if offered, no suspensions or disciplinary actions in the previous two years, required purchase of travel insurance, and a maximum of 12 students.
