Description:  We are gathered today on the traditional homeland of the Alutiiq/Sugpiaq people.  The heritage and culture of the Alutiiq people continue to enrich our communities and our schools.

Description:  The District has received Advisory School Board Minutes from Old Harbor Advisory School Board.

Description:  Student Representative Tessa Davis will provide updates on student activities, achievements, and perspectives to inform the Board.

Description:  BP 3100: The School Board shall establish and maintain a balanced budget. The Board shall adopt an annual budget which is compatible with District goals and objectives. The District budget shall be prepared annually from the best possible estimates of revenues and expenditures. The Superintendent or designee shall determine the manner in which the budget shall be prepared and shall schedule the budget adoption process in accordance with legal time requirements. A public hearing shall be held prior to the adoption of the budget or a revised budget.

As per Board Bylaw 9323, Meeting Conduct, members of the public wishing to address the School Board regarding matters they are concerned about may do so at this time. While this is an opportunity to address the School Board regarding items that are not on the agenda, this is not an opportunity to present complaints regarding any District staff, both by name or indirect identification. Complaints against personnel are prohibited and should be addressed through the appropriate complaints process.

By Board Bylaw, a person wishing to be heard by the Board should first be recognized by the president. They shall then identify themselves and proceed to comment as briefly as the subject permits. 

Community comments shall be limited to three minutes per person.

Description:  BP 3460 The Superintendent or designee shall keep the School Board informed about the District's financial condition. The Board shall review the District's financial condition monthly, through the monthly Report of Revenues and Expenditures, to determine whether the district will be able to meet its financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year.

Description:  These requests for leave of absence (LOA) are for the 26-27 school year. Requests were made within the timeline outlined in the negotiated agreement. The administration does not support these requests for LOA. An LOA in this circumstance would require an advance commitment by the district to a future visa application process and associated financial obligations. The district is not able to commit future administrations or district resources to visa-related applications or costs, as doing so would be cost-prohibitive and outside of what we can responsibly guarantee.

Description:  Board members will provide updates from standing and ad hoc committees. These reports include recent discussions, actions, and recommendations to keep the full Board informed on committee work and progress.
