3. Consideration and action authorize Superintendent Deighan to suspend school district-wide, and take other necessary actions, if the teachers and/or support personnel engage in a work stoppage and Superintendent Deighan determines that student safety is endangered by the lack of adequate staff to provide supervision of students.

Consideration and action to authorize Superintendent Deighan to determine whether, during any employee work stoppage, the district has the staff available to continue extracurricular, co-curricular and other after or before school programs and to make decisions regarding those activities accordingly.

5. Consideration and action to authorize Superintendent Deighan to take the steps necessary to permit 12 month support employees, who would be unable to make up the loss of work days occurring because of a school closure, if due to a teacher work stoppage, to elect one of the following options: (1) assignment of work during any closure to avoid the loss of pay for any day or days of absence; (2) to take a day of accrued leave (except that employees cannot take sick leave for this purpose); or (3) to choose a day or days of leave without pay.

6. Consideration and action regarding the authorization for feeding sites during any potential work stoppage.

9. The Lawton Public School District encourages participation from all of its patrons. If participation at any public meeting is not possible due to a disability, notification to the Clerk of the Board of Education at 580-357-6900, extension 2074, at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting is encouraged to make the necessary accommodations. The district may waive the 48-hour rule if an interpreter for the deaf (signing) is not the necessary accommodation.
