Public Content:  This is the third year of the MHIT grant.  The grant amount for the 2025-2026 school year is $57,826.20.  Per the grant, the district contribution is 35% or $20,239.17. 
KDADs took over the grant from KSDE for the 2024/2025 school year.  At that time, the district match increased from 25% to 35% for the School Liaison's salary and benefits.  However, in 2024/2025, Crosswinds agreed to compensate USD #244 for the 10% difference in salary contribution. Crosswinds has agreed to maintain this funding arrangement for the 2025/2026 school year. USD #244 will pay $14,456.55 towards the liaison salary, and Crosswinds will contribute $5,782.62 to cover the $20,237.17 district obligation.

Public Content:  The Board of Education wishes to be responsive to the community and welcomes patrons at all meetings.  Requests to speak may be made when the board president asks if any visitors have items to bring to the attention of the board. Speakers are asked to limit their remarks to five (5) minutes or less and groups with the same special interest may be asked to appoint a spokesperson.

Public Content:  During this item, the board may choose to adopt the budget and levy as presented or may elect to amend the budget. Should the board elect to amend the budget, no individual fund budgets may be increased beyond the amount that was published in the public notice.

While some discussion by the board concerning the budget may occur under this item, the time for major discussion and the public hearing is scheduled during the budget hearing. It is recommended that this item on the agenda be reserved for board discussion and action with regard to the 2025-2026 budget.

Public Content:  We are providing Building Needs Assessments as well as State Assessment Results in order to adopt our budget for the 2025-2026 school year. Building Needs Assessments were reviewed in the creation of our budget and are attached below.  State Assessments are reviewed in our Result reports throughout the year.  Since we have a process in place to review State Assessments, we will not be including those in-depth results at this time. Both the building needs assessments and state assessments were discussed and evaluated in the budget approval process.  

The Board also receives staff input at Certified Teacher Linkage meetings in April of each year. Recommendations from staff members are considered carefully by the Board of Education and Administration. 
Recommendations include additional staff, as well as other student improvement programming.

Retirement
Section A.             
The district requires the employee to notify, in writing to the superintendent, their intent to retire.  Such written notice shall be submitted on or before the 1^st of February preceding the anticipated retirement date.

• All staff notifying the district of their intent to retire on or before October 1 will receive a $1000.00 stipend.
• All staff notifying the district of their intent to retire on or before November 1 will receive a $750.00 stipend.
• All staff notifying the district of their intent to retire on or before December 1 will receive a $500.00 stipend.

Public Content:  The Purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to ensure that families and children experience a smooth, consistent, and predictable transition from the Infant Toddler Services of Kansas, serving the Flint Hills (formerly Flint Hills tiny-k), to the USD 244 Early Childhood Services (USD 244).
