8. EXECUTIVE BOARD REPORT

Description: The Executive Board meeting was held on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Those present included: Dr. Dan Sullivan from District #87, Dr. Victoria Stockton and Ms. Michaelene Bender from District #88, Mrs. Roshune Pechacek from District #92, Dr. Kevin Suchinski from District #93, and Mr. Alexander Aschoff from District #209. Also, present included: Mr. Michael James, Mrs. Vanessa Schmitt, Dr. Paul Starck-King, Ms. LaShonda McDaniel, and Mrs. Trainette Latham from PAEC Administration.

Presenters from Renaissance Fastbridge virtually presented an overview of the program and Mr. Nick Cavaliere from BakerTilly also virtually presented the Audit.

The Executive Board reviewed and recommended approval of all action items on the agenda. It was recommended that the CSBOs attend the February 13, 2025 Executive Board meeting to further discuss geothermal funding options.

Description: There is no report for January 2025.

10. COMMITTEE REPORTS

10.A. FINANCE COMMITTEE

Description: The Finance Committee met on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Those present included: Ms. Dorothy Clark Smith (PAEC Governing Board President), Ms. Rose Mason (PAEC Governing Board Secretary), Dr. Victoria Stockton (Superintendent #87), Irene Daciuk (CSBO #87), Amy Curtin (CSBO #93), Dr. Deborah Watson-Hill (CSBO #209), Mr. Michael James (PAEC Executive Director), Mrs. Vanessa Scmitt (PAEC Assistant Executive Director), Dr. Paul Starck King (PAEC Interim CSBO/CFO), Ms. LaShonda McDaniel (PAEC Assistant Business Manager), Mrs. Consuelo Martinez (PAEC Early Childhood Principal), and Mrs. Trainette Latham (PAEC Executive Administrative Assistant/Medicaid Coordinator).

The committee approved the minutes from the December 10, 2024 meeting, and discussed the monthly treasurer's report, 5-year facility plan, geothermal funding options, updates regarding food service, possible extension for First Student Transportation, and the FY2024 financial audit statements.

10.B. POLICY COMMITTEE

Description: The Policy Committee met on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Those present included: Mr. Michael James, Mrs. Vanessa Schmitt, Mrs. Rose Mason (Governing Board Secretary), Mrs. Trainette Latham, Mrs. Inga Ezerins, Mrs. Ann Coenen, Ms. LaShonda McDaniel, Ms. Kelley Rowlen.

The committee reviewed Press Plus Issue 117. There were questions and concerns regarding Board Policy 7:200 (Suspension Procedures) that will be sent to lawyers for clarification. Discussions included adding a section to the website to highlight specific policies like Title IX, Bullying, PUNS, and the Cardiac Response Plan.
