10.A. ACTION ITEM: FY26 Illinois Public Library Annual Report (IPLAR)
Description:
All Illinois public libraries are required by statute to prepare an annual report to be submitted to the State Library as a condition of system membership. The State Library also uses this data to participate in the national Public Library Survey (PLS), which is administered annually by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The purpose of this survey is to provide statistics on the status of public libraries in the United States. IMLS is authorized to collect this data under the federal Museum and Library Services Act of 2003.
Recommended Motion(s):
I move to authorize the Library Director to submit the FY26 IPLAR to the Illinois State Library as required by statute. (75 ILCS 5/4-10)

Recommended Motion(s):
I move to approve Resolution 2026/2027-002, authorizing the transfer of $1,865,000 from the library's General Operating Fund to the Special Reserve Fund.

Recommended Motion(s):
In recognition of their outstanding efforts during the library renovation, I move to award 15 hours of additional paid time off to all current full-time employees and 7.5 hours of paid time off to all current part-time employees that were on staff as of 5/31/26 to be used no later than 4/30/27.

14. Building Tour
Description:
One of the Core Standards for Illinois Public Libraries calls for the Board to demonstrate stewardship by conducting a walkthrough of the library facility to assess the condition of furniture and equipment on an annual basis.
The Library board will conduct their annual building tour at the end of the June board meeting. The meeting will be adjourned at the conclusion of the tour. |
