Description:

Description:
HB 1605 was passed during the 88th Texas Legislature and established an expanded process for the State Board of Education (SBOE) to approve high-quality instructional materials (HQIM). Instructional materials on the IMRA List of SBOE-Approved Instructional Materials have met 100% of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and applicable English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS). |

Description:
Texas Senate Bill 569, passed in 2025, allowing school districts to offer a more flexible learning model through virtual and hybrid learning. The proposal for the Godley ISD Hybrid Program was created to expand educational access and provide families with more choices while maintaining the high expectations for our students' growth and achievement.

Description:
Consider approval of the ESC 11 contract for 2026-2027, which provides instructional resources for the district to utilize as a support mechanism for the classroom at a discounted cost.

Description:
Senate Bill 13 requires that a list of materials proposed for acquisition in a school library must be made available to the public for review for at least 30 days before the school board votes to approve the purchase of materials. Godley ISD has posted the linked list of library books to purchase on our website and sent it to our library materials review committee for more than 30 days.

Description:
Innovative courses allow districts to offer state-approved innovative courses to enable students to master knowledge, skills, and competencies not included in the essential knowledge and skills of the required curriculum (Texas Administrative Code [TAC] Section 74.27). With the approval of the local board of trustees, school districts and charter schools may offer any state-approved innovative courses. |

8)a)13) Consider Approval of Certification of Provision of Instructional Materials - TEKS Certification for 2026-2027 School Year
Description:
In accordance with Texas Education Code (TEC) §31.1011, Districts are required to certify annually to the State Board of Education (SBOE) and the commissioner that students have access to instructional materials covering all Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for all required subjects, except physical education.

Description:
During this critical time, districts must move quickly to attract the best candidates, as teachers are often hesitant to accept positions unless they can be processed rapidly. The challenge of securing fully certified teachers is heightened, particularly in a competitive pay market. Therefore, when we have the opportunity to hire a highly qualified individual, it is crucial that we take decisive action to streamline our hiring process and enhance our chances of attracting the best candidates.

Description:
Per Gov't Code 2258.021 and CV (Legal), the Board must adopt a prevailing wage schedule prior to accepting any contract for construction, including the replacement of lighting, according to the latest SAM.gov publication.

8)e) Consider Approval of the Teacher Incentive Allotment Spending Plan
Description:
Consider approval of the Teacher Incentive Allotment Spending Plan for 2025-2026. While Godley ISD does not designate teachers, prior designations from other districts follow the teacher through the expiration date of said designation and must be paid out per the approved district spending plan.

8)f) Discuss and Make Determination Regarding SB 546 Requirements; Reporting on School Bus Seat Belt Cost
Description:
Senate Bill 546, passed during the 89th Texas Legislature, strengthens standards for school buses transporting students in Texas. The bill amends Texas Transportation Code §547.701, with the addition of subsection (f), requiring that all school buses operated by or contracted for use by a school district be equipped with three-point seat belts for every passenger, including the driver.
If a school board determines that the district’s budget does not allow for the purchase of buses equipped with three-point seat belts, the district must present a report in a public board meeting. |
