8.1. MBIAMS Final Plans and Cost Estimate
Rationale:
In order to receive funding from the state, the Board of Education must approve the final plans, project manuals and cost estimate for Phase 2 of the Memorial Boulevard Intradistrict Arts Magnet School Renovation project. This motion was approved by the Memorial Boulevard Intradistrict Arts Magnet School Building committee on June 25, 2020. |

9.1. AP Statistics Curriculum Revision
Rationale:
In 2019, The College Board released an updated AP Statistics course framework. This framework was designed to support students in the AP Statistics course by ensuring the course design was both informed by and aligned to the AP assessment. This updated curriculum from the CollegeBoard introduces students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. There are four themes evident in the content, skills, and assessment in the AP Statistics course: exploring data, sampling and experimentation, probability and simulation, and statistical inference. Students use technology, investigations, problem solving, and writing as they build conceptual understanding. In order to best support Bristol Scholar’s, our previous AP Statistics curriculum needed to be revised to meet the modified demands of the course. Students in grades 11-12 can enroll in this potential college credit bearing course.
The AP Statistics course is equivalent to a one-semester, introductory, non-calculus-based college course in statistics. In order for a student to get college credit for AP scores, you have to request that the College Board send your official score report to the college of your choice. After receiving your scores, your college should notify you about any credit, advanced placement, and/or course exemptions you have earned.

9.2. Italian ECE Curriculum Revision
Rationale:
The new Italian ECE (Early College Experience) course provides students the opportunity to earn UCONN credit during their senior year by continuing their study of Italian. Students must successfully complete Italian 3 to be eligible for this course. Students will study Italian traditions, music, film, art, literature and history in the target language, building towards the intermediate-high level of language acquisition as defined by the American Council Teaching of Foreign Languages. This is the first reading of the curriculum. In the intervening month, commissioners may contact Leszek Ward with any questions.
