Rationale:
Members of the Killingly community are encouraged to share their thoughts with the Board of Education and are invited to do so during this segment of the meeting. When appropriate to do so, members of the Board and the administration may respond to comments. However, in consideration of those in attendance and in an effort to proceed in a timely manner, follow-up discussion may need to take place outside of the meeting setting. |

6. KHS Technology Teacher, Mr. Jim Hutson and Students
Rationale:
NEWS RELEASE ON KHS TSA - Technology Student Association 2. Joey Raheb placed honorably against 50 students from USA,Germany, and Turkey, in 3D Mechanical Engineering. (approximately 7 hour competition) 3. Camille Benoit and Julia Mossey performed extremely well in Debating Technological Issues. Sydney and Julia excelled in Technology Problem Solving. 4. KHS TSA was awarded the Chapter Excellence Award by National TSA. 5. Gold Achievement Awards for student excellence were issued to Bryan Barrow, Karena Ayotte, Sydney Berube, Camille Benoit, Joey Raheb,and Julia Mossey by National TSA. 6. National TSA Honor Society Awards were achieved by Karena Ayotte, Sydney Berube, Camille Benoit, and Joey Raheb by National TSA. 7. KHS TSA students assisted in hosting an international and national special delegation meeting with approximately 100 students who were from Germany, Turkey, California, New York and CT. 8. KHS TSA was chosen by the Connecticut Department of Education for the CTSO (Career and Technology Student Association) Community Service Award of Excellence. This is a prestigious award given to one school for their work and involvement in the community. 9. KHS TSA Advisor and CT State TSA Advisor, Jim Hutson, will be joining 30 other TSA State Advisors in a national summit in Washington, DC to develop National STEM Performance Standards in October. |
7. Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Westfield Ave. Driveway

The Town Council requested to widen the north driveway at 79 Westfield Ave. to allow for a more efficient and safer traffic flow during referendums and elections.

8. Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Child Nutrition Program (CNP) Permanent Agreement ED-099

Rationale:
The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) has revised the Child Nutrition Program (CNP) Permanent Agreement ED-099 to include all programs available to school food authorities (SFA). Programs which currently apply to Killingly include the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Afterschool Snack Program, Summer Food Service Program, and the Food Distribution Program. The new Permanent Agreement requires action from the local board of education to execute the Agreement and designate the authorized signers so that claims can be submitted for reimbursement.
