May 24, 2023 at 5:30 PM - Bethel Board of Education Special Meeting - Berry School Principal

Rationale:  As discussed in our last full Board meeting, we have concluded our process for the vacancy for the Principal of Berry School.  The process included teachers, parents, and members of the Leadership Team.  We are all in agreement with recommending Dr. Beth Grieco as Mrs. Legnard's replacement as Principal at Berry School.  

As you are aware, we posted the position internally.  That was followed by a screening interview, a focus group interview with teachers from Berry School, and a Parent Committee focus group.  The teacher group had representatives from each grade, special education, a special's teacher, COF staff member, and PPS staff.  Parents included the PTO Executive Board and a few other parents.  

Dr. Grieco's resume is attached.  She is being recommended for the following reasons:

• Demonstrated administrative instructional leadership at the elementary level.
• Deep knowledge of literacy instruction, which is a key district need.
• Strong leadership in developing a positive culture for both staff and students.  
• Leading to improve student outcomes.

You will note her resume provides an excellent synopsis of her background and experiences.
