The Borger Junior College District (Frank Phillips College) hereby cancels the election scheduled to be held on May 7, 2022, in accordance with Section 2.053(a) of the Texas Election Code. III.b. Tuition and Fee Increase

Description:
There have been significant increases in the cost of materials, supplies, information technology, utilities, fuel, professional services, and other items due to inflationary pressures. Furthermore, the valuation of assessed property values is not expected to increase sufficiently to offset cost increases.
To compensate for additional cost increases, projected insufficient ad valorem revenues, and stagnate state appropriations, tuition increases ranging from 5.4% to 6.6% are proposed beginning with the Fall 2022 semester. In addition, a proposed increase in student fees as follows:
