4. Public Comments/Open Forum
The Board provides a limited forum for public comment at all regular Board meetings. Speaking during this open forum does not require placement on the Board agenda. Public participation in Board meetings is governed by policy BED (LOCAL). The board will not comment or engage in discussion during this agenda item. All comments are to be informative only, and no action can be taken. The board requests that comments and presentations not include statements that are inflammatory or slanderous. Public comments may not exceed five minutes, and issues for which the Board has established resolution channels, such as complaints against district employees, may not be brought before the Board in an open forum. To discuss legal matters related to the District’s property insurance hail damage claim arising from the November 1, 2025, storm event, including potential litigation and entering into a contingent fee contract for legal services to pursue recovery of insurance proceeds, and consultation with the District’s general legal counsel (Texas Government Code §551.071).

5.B. Discussion on employment, reassignments, proposed nonrenewals, nonrenewals, proposed terminations, terminations, resignations, letters on personnel and retirements of contract and at will employees.

7.A. Consideration and Adoption of Resolution Approving Contingent Fee Legal Services Contract, including Findings Required for Submission of the Contingent Fee Legal Services Agreement and Request for Review by the Texas Attorney General pursuant to Texas Government Code Chapter 2254. |

7.B. Consideration and Adoption of Contingent Fee Legal Services Agreement with Nick Maddox & Associates, PLLC to represent the District in connection with insurance coverage litigation and related claims arising from hail damage to District facilities. |

7.C. Discussion on employment, reassignments, proposed nonrenewals, nonrenewals, proposed terminations, terminations, resignations, letters to personnel and retirements of contract and at will employees.
