III. Recognition of Accomplishment
Description:
Board members may recognize students, staff or community members for outstanding contributions to the district or educational community.

IV. Resident Participation
Description:
Resident participation is for those who wish to speak to the Board. Please review the Resident Participation guideline document at the meeting for more information. Those who wish to receive follow up after the meeting should sign in at the table near the door. Time will be limited to two minutes per speaker. Resident participation will be stopped after one hour.

V. Consent Agenda - Ms. Brooks
Description:
Consent agenda items are routine items that the Board approves without discussion. Board members may remove items from the consent agenda for further discussion, or to vote differently on that particular item.

V.A. Agenda
Description:
The Board will approve or revise the agenda for the meeting.

V.B. Bills for Payment
Description:
Bills for payment include all invoices that are currently due by the district.
|
V.C. Minutes
Description:
The Board will be asked to approve the minutes as listed. Minutes are typically posted on the website once a month.

VI. Information/Discussion/Possible Action

VI.A. Curriculum Expectations - Ms. Brooks
|
VI.A.1. Advanced Placement Data Review and Plan Review
Description:
The Board will be provided with data related to Advanced Placement (AP) classes and test scores at the high school, as well as information regarding future plans for AP courses.

VI.A.2. Class Size Updates
Description:
The Board will receive informaiton regarding the projected class sizes at the schools.

VI.B. Character Education - Ms. DeFord
|
VI.B.1. Annual Bullying Report Approval
Description:
The Board will be asked to approve the annual bullying report as required by the State of Wisconsin.

VI.B.2. Annual Seclusion and Restraint Report Approval
Description:
The Board will be asked to approve the annual restraint and seclusion report as required by the State of Wisconsin.

VI.C. Community Engagement - Mr. Hintz
|
VI.C.1. Communications Plan Update
Description:
Dan Bader, the district's communication coordinator, will present to the Board regarding accomplishments from the previous six months and the goals for the new school year.

VI.C.2. WASB Resolution Discussion
Description:
The Board will be asked its intent to create a resolution for review by the Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) for the delegate assembly in January.

VI.C.3. School Board Agenda Discussion
Description:
The Board will discuss the format of the Board agendas, including the agenda titles, information, and potential attachments.

VI.D. Capital Effectiveness - Mr. Vega
|
VI.D.1. Staffing - New Hires, Resignations, Retirements, Revised FTE (additional 3.0 FTE teacher, reduction .20 FTE teacher, reduction 6 paraprofessional aide FTE, increased clerical hours)
Description:
The Board will be asked to approve new hires and resignations. Additionally, the Board will be asked to approve 1 new 5k teaching position, 2 new special education teaching positions, the reduction of an interventionist/coach position, the reduction of 6 paraprofessional aide positions, and the increase of a clerical position in the activities & athletics office.

VI.D.2. Annual Meetings Document Review and 22-23 Preliminary Budget Approval
Description:
The Board will be asked to review the annual meetings document and provide any feedback, as well as approve the 22-23 preliminary budget. All of the documents will be reviewed in detail at the September 7 annual meeting.

VII. Superintendent’s Report
Description:
Dr. Weiss will provide the Board with informational items related to recent or upcoming topics or events.

VIII. President’s Report
Description:
Ms. Williams will provide the Board with informational items related to recent or upcoming topics or events.

IX. Announcements
Description:
Board members may make announcements related to recent or upcoming topics or events.
|
X. Closed Session - The Board will move into closed session pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes Section 19.85(1)(e) to deliberate or negotiate the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session to discuss teacher, secretary, and paraprofessional negotiations.
