Principal's Report

Mr. Spivey presented the principal's report. The elementary has most of their beginning of the year assessments complete. Students spent time reflecting on 9/11. Officer Miller & Mrs. Phillips are working together to share the importance of our SRO, his role in the school and the tools that he uses to keep us safe. Additionally, they are working to discuss how to interact with an officer. GES currently has 346 students with 96.31 attendance. GMS currently has 170 students. OAP tryouts were September 12, Mrs. Brown has kept 24 cast members. Football started out great with 7th grade defeating Groveton & 8th grade beating All Saints. Volleyball teams are doing great. Both the 7th & 8th Grade girls got 1st place at the Garrison Tournament and 7th grade earned 2nd place in the Pine Tree Tournament. Cross country is having a lot of success. Both the boys and the girls teams earned 1st place at the Cushing Invitational.
FCA is going well with out weekly meetings on Friday mornings. Students will be signing up and trying out for their UIL events soon. September 25 is see you at the pole and Oct 2 is Race the Bulldogs. High School enrollment is at 219. Yondr launch was September 11. Meet the teach is September 23 at 5:30 PM. PSAT is October 22nd @ 9 AM> |
