11.G. Supplemental Instructional Materials for Abuse Prevention
Description:
In May 2025, the Special Programs Department submitted a request to the School Health Advisory Council to adopt the Circles Level 1 curriculum as a supplemental health resource for a specific secondary special education population, as current materials lack appropriate modifications.
Circles Level 1 (James Stanfield) provides instruction on physical and emotional boundaries, consent, and relationships through video-based lessons, visuals, and activities designed for students with intellectual disabilities, autism, and mental health needs. In compliance with Board Policy EHAA, the School Health Advisory Council reviewed the materials during public meetings on October 14 and December 2, 2025, and unanimously recommended adoption as a supplemental resource for Special Programs classrooms with parent consent. |

11.K. ACFR Single Audit Reports
Description:
As you may recall, the Single Audit could not be completed along with our audit of financial statements because the audit team was waiting for the pending compliance bulletin for federal funds to be finalized. The compliance bulletin has now been finalized and the single audit is complete. HPISD was found to have complied, in all material respects, with compliance requirements. This is the highest rating that can be achieved.
