9.I. Final Change Order for Hyer Elementary Construction Project, Acceptance of Final Completion of Work, and Authorization of Final Payment
Description:
The final change order is per review of the Whitley Penn construction audit with Balfour Beatty Construction. The final cost of the project is $36,277,471, which is $23,890 below the original project GMP of $36,301,361. Per Board Policy CV(LOCAL), the District shall not make final payments for construction until the work has been completed and the Board has accepted the work.
The recommendation is that the Highland Park ISD Board of Trustees approves the final change order to decrease the final project cost for the Hyer Elementary construction project by $23,890, the acceptance of the final completion of work, and the authorization of final payment to Balfour Beatty Construction.

9.M. Consideration of Resolution to Lease Minerals Owned by the District in Underlying Property Owned by the District in Morris County, Texas
Description:
The Highland Park Independent School District owns the mineral interest underlying a certain tract of 155.38 acres of land in Morris County, Texas. The District was bequeathed 6% of the minerals underlying the Morris County Tract in the Last Will and Testament of John H. Winborn dated August 7, 2003, which was probated in Dallas County, No. 4-3877, and closed September 29, 2005. The District has been approached by a party interested in leasing the minerals owned by the District.
The recommendation is that the Highland Park ISD Board of Trustees approves the resolution as presented.

9.O. Authorization of Final Payment for High School Phase 2/3 Project
Description:
The final change order is per review of the Whitley Penn construction audit with Lee Lewis Construction. The final cost of the project is $28,354,288. Per Board Policy CV(LOCAL), the District shall not make final payments for construction until the work has been completed and the Board has accepted the work.
The recommendation is that the Highland Park ISD Board of Trustees approves the final change order for the HS Phase 2/3 project, the acceptance of the final completion of work, and the authorization of final payment to Lee Lewis Construction. |
9.P. Order of Cancellation of HPISD Board of Trustees May 4, 2024 Election
Description:
Section 2.053 of the Election Code states that, upon receipt of Certification of Unopposed Status, the governing body of the political subdivision by order or ordinance may declare each unopposed candidate elected to the office. The Order of Cancellation for the May 4, 2024 election is attached declaring Doug Woodward and Maryjane Bonfield as unopposed for their respective places on the Board.
The recommendation is that the Highland Park Independent School District Board of Trustees approves the Order of Cancellation.
