IV. CITIZENS' COMMUNICATION / RECOGNITIONS
Description:
According to EPISD Board Policy BED (Local) Board Meeting: Public Participation, only those persons (on the list) who request to speak shall be heard. The speaker shall limit remarks to three minutes, unless, this limit is waived by the board. The Board shall allot no more than 20 minutes for the Citizens’ Communication portion of the meeting. Complaints and concerns for which other resolution channels are provided shall be directed through those channels. These complaints include complaints on the following subjects: employee complaints, termination of employment, student complaints, removal to alternative education program, and expulsion. If the Board President determines that a person has not attempted to resolve a matter administratively, the person shall be directed to the appropriate policy for attempted resolution before bringing the matter to the Board. Complaints against specific employees or officers of EPISD shall be heard in Closed Meeting, as authorized by the Texas Government Code Title 5-Section: 551.074 (1) and (2). If your topic concerns complaints against specific employees or officers, please note this on the sign-up sheet. You must make your points on issues in a constructive and courteous fashion pursuant to Robert’s Rules of Order.

IV.1) Recognition of Eagle Pass High School student Alexsa Martinez for being selected for the St. Edwards' University - College Assistance Program (CAMP) scholarship, a four-year scholarship in the amount of $222,000.

IV.2) Recognition of CC Winn High School Senior, Airamy Martinez, for being awarded a Minnie Stevens Piper Scholarship.

IV.3) Recognition of CC Winn High School Senior, Ricardo Chavarria III and Sergio Long, for being awarded a Gates Millennium Scholarship.

IV.4) Recognition of CC Winn High School Senior, Caleb Medellin, for being awarded a Terry Foundation Scholarship.

IV.5) Recognition of Ray H. Darr Elementary 3rd Grade student, Nathan Martinez, for being the Top Imagine Math Leader.

IV.6) Recognition of Ray H. Darr Elementary for placing 3rd Place in the 2024 Lonestar Math Cup Sweepstakes in Texas.

IV.7) Recognition of Miss Cardenas' 4th Grade class for having perfect attendance for seven weeks straight from January 21, 2024 to April 5, 2024.

IV.9) Recognition of the Eagle Pass High School Lady Eagles Softball team for being the 2023-2024 District Champs with an undefeated season. And recognition of Coach Oscar "Koka" Ruiz was selected as Coach of the Year.

IV.14) Recognition of the Eagle Pass High School's Mighty Eagle Concert Bands for being awarded a 1st Division "Superior" rating in concert. Two of the concert bands received a 1st Division "Superior" rating in Sightreading making them "Sweepstakes Bands".

IV.15) Recognition of the Eagle Pass High School's Might Eagle Band for participating in the Region XI UIL Solo & Ensemble Competition and receiving a total of 19 Solo Medals and 91 Ensemble Medals.
